Induction heating is the process of heating an electrically conducting object (usually a metal) by electromagnetic induction, through heat generated in the object by eddy current. The magnetic flux generated by high frequency current in the heating coil induce eddy current in the object and creates heat. No contact is required between the work piece and the induction coil as the heat source, and the heat is restricted to localized areas or surface zones immediately adjacent to the coil.
